Our History
In 1996, a group of alpaca owners from five farms got together to create the Southeastern Alpaca Association with its goal to be a non-profit
organization to promote alpacas in the southeast. In just nine years, the SeAA has grown to over 130 members in its seven state region.

The SeAA offers members many opportunities to promote alpacas and individual farms through the Southeast in addition to providing education to the members and the public about alpacas:
Events
Southern Select Alpaca Show, Shelbyville, TN each March showcasing southeastern alpacas in AOBA certified halter, fleece and performance classes in addition to educational seminars.
Sunbelt Expo, Moultrie, GA each October featuring the Alpaca Pavilion exhibiting animals and their fiber, while offering education to the farming public about alpacas.
Special Educational Seminars for members, such as neonatal clinics, fiber workshops, and shearing clinics.
SeAA Store
The traveling SeAA Store, where members consign alpaca related goods from their farms for sale to the public during SeAA events and other venues in the southeast.
Publications
SeAA News, the official newsletter, is published five times per year providing members updates and news about the SeAA and the alpaca industry.

SeAA Membership Directory is published twice per year and distributed to members and to attendees at SeAA Events.
www.sealpaca.org web site provides information on the Internet to the public, affording SeAA members leads to potential alpaca owners and links to individual farm member web sites.
